JOEL MARENCO, Cradleroll+Kindergarten Leader

Joel was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Newbury Park.  He attended La Sierra University and has taught both young adult and children's Sabbath School, has been a VBS leader, a Pathfinder Leader and Master Guide, and teaches piano as well.  His happiest moment was marrying his wife, Abi, on November 4, 2012; his most thrilling moment was scuba diving with 17 sharks without a cage!  And his saddest moment was when the Lakers lost to the Celtics in the 2008 NBA Finals, a sad day for many...Joel is looking forward to meeting Jesus face to face one day with Abi and thanking Him for what He has done.  He is also very interested in asking Jesus about the mysteries of the deep blue ocean.

SUE ROMERO,
Primary+Junior Leader

Sue was born in the state of Kansas but has spent the majority of her life in Southern California. Her parents were not Seventh-day Adventists, though several relatives on her mother's side were.  She was introduced to Jesus when her Aunt Reta would visit her home and invite Sue and her sister to attend Sabbath School.  She was baptized at the age of eleven. In 1995 she dedicated her life to the ministry of teaching children about Jesus.  Sue is currently an assistant teacher for the Simi Valley Seventh-day Adventist School; in addition to teaching Primary Sabbath School, she is also the Director for the Simi Valley Miner Pathfinder Club.  Her passion is to lead young people to Jesus Christ.
